Lee County EEA to host Senior Social in Lexington

Monday, February 11, 2013

The Lee County Extension Education Association will host a Senior Social on Saturday, February 23, from 2 to 5 P.M., at the Lexington American Legion Hall.  Admission is $3 per person or $5 per couple.  No RSVP is required; admission is paid at the door.  The event is geared towards the Senior-age crowd, though all adults are welcome.

Guests will enjoy dancing “to the oldies”, games, refreshments, door prizes and more.

Members of the Planning Committee include:  Barbara Fisher, Ramona Caskey, Carolyn Hutson, Fay Pace, Jennifer Beauchamp, Darlene Brown, Linda Jones, Joyce Jenke, Lucy Torn and Nancy Turner.  Lee County Extension Agent Tonya Poncik said, “Several members of the planning committee attended the State TEEA meeting in September.  At that meeting the committee was formed to identify other opportunities for Seniors in our area.  The Senior Social was organized with the idea of providing local Seniors the opportunity of a low cost, “close-to-home” event in a relaxed atmosphere.  It is our hope that all Seniors feel welcomed to attend.”
